Update on COVID-19 Social Distancing Measures for April 2022

Korea’s new cases of COVID-19 decreased from a height of 621,328 cases per day on March 17^th to 127,190 cases on April 4^th. Following the downward trend in new cases, the government announced an updated version of social distancing protocol on April 1^st. This new protocol is effective from April 4^th till April 17^th. We highlight the following changes.

1. Increase on private gathering limitation from eight to ten people, regardless of vaccination status.
2. Extended closing hours for restaurants and indoor activities from 11pm to 12pm.
3. New maximum of 299 people allowed for large events, regardless of vaccination status.
4. Indoor religious activities may occur with up to 70% of maximum attendance capacity, regardless of vaccination status.
